Trip
Details
Starting in Kununurra, we will travel north to the vast waters of Lake Argyle where we will stay the first night.
Day 1: On our first day, we'll take a boat ride deep into the vast waters of Lake Argyle to a place called Ulysses Bay where we'll begin our trek in the Carr Boyd ranges.

The first day is a 5km walk to our campsite on Revolver Creek at the entrance to the mighty gorge.

For those wanting a deeper understanding of how to read and navigate country, trek leader, Terry Hewett will be guiding the group on how to use maps, compasses, animal tracks, water markers, and geology. We will also build a raft for a river crossing and learn many other bush skills you've probably always wanted to know!

Day 2: 12km walk without packs into the gorge, to the breathtaking waterfall. At night we'll gather around a camp fire, share stories and song, and sleep under the star filled sky.

Day 3: 10km walk with our packs to a cross over from Revolver Creek Falls into the narrow, deep gorge to where we'll set up camp for the night.

Day 4: 5km walk along the gorge back to the shores of Lake Argyle where we'll meet our boat ride back to the dam wall. Once there, we'll choose our trusty kayak and embark on our second part of the journey down the fast flowing section of the Ord river. We'll camp overnight at Sandy Beach.

Day 5: Full day of paddling through Carlton Gorge to Stonewall Camp where we'll light the fire, roll out our tents and enjoy the star filled sky country.

Day 6: Spend the day lazing about or going for a paddle and a swim through the spillway that flows next to Stonewall camp. We can fish, jump off cliffs, write in journals, read a book or just mooch around. We'll finish the day with a sunset boat cruise back into Kununurra for a rewarding hot shower and a dinner at the famous Pumphouse restaurant on the banks of the Ord River, and integrate and celebrate our journey's end.
